Do you know what is in your mattress?
We believe that everyone should be able to simply look at a label on their mattress to know what's inside, not just the fillings but the chemical treatments too. When buying food you can look at the list of ingredients, why not with a mattress?
Chemical flame retardants are frequently introduced and banned but are never removed from the home. Boric acid for example was banned in 2012, but remains in peoples homes. There is no way of telling if it is in your mattress or not.
We are introducing our own label on our mattresses stating that they contain no flame retardant chemicals and no POP's (Persistent Organic Pollutants) and are therefore safe to be recycled. This is important as under the Stockholm Convention mattresses containing flame retardants will be treated as toxic waste and not be able to be placed in landfill. Our mattress fabric and fillings are biodegradable, eco-friendly and can be recycled with no negative environmental or heath effects.
